About ME

My family immigrated to Canada when I was 14 years old. 

I started my career as an Air Cadet. As an Air Cadet I was given the chance to go flying in a glider airplane and from there I was hooked onto flying. 

Not long after graduating high school I became a Private Pilot.

I studied Aircraft Mechanic Engineering in college and graduated with High Honours.

After graduating I decided to go back to flying and finished earning my Multi-IFR and Commercial Pilot’s licence.

It wasn’t easy to get to this point as I worked multiple jobs to fund my training. Such as being a Flight Dispatcher, Aircraft De-icer, and Aircraft loader.

It took over 2 years to find my first flying job. During that time it was very tough to wait for someone to hire. 

So, I got my instructor rating to increase my odds and finally got my first flying gig.

Flight Instructing was a lot of fun. I rose through the ranks to being a Class 2 Flight Instructor. All while working full time as a Flight Dispatcher. (So I worked everyday 14 hours a day for 3.5 years.)

Then I got the call to fly a turboprop airplane in Northern Canada. It was tough living in the cold but it developed great piloting skills in challenging weather.

Then, I came back to civilization to work as a First Officer for the largest regional airline in Canada. After only 2 years I got promoted to Captain. My first jet Captain job flying all over Canada and USA.

Finally, after all these years I got the call from a Major Airline in Canada. This time I would fly a Boeing 757 and a wide body Boeing 767 to Europe, Mexico, Bahamas.

My aim is to help the aviation community by offering student pilots helpful advise, alert you to job ads, introduce to you other pilots journeys via my blog, and to motivate you to not give up during tough times. 

This has been a dream come true. My sense of confidence, a a part of my happiness, my ability to focus, to learn has all come from being a pilot.
